Mr. Walton and the team would like to welcome all pupils, parents and staff back to Brighton College Bangkok for the start of the new academic year.
Mr Walton had this to say in his first letter to parents:
Wednesday came as a great relief to us all, as we welcomed pupils back to start off the new school year. Some of them, particularly those new to the College, had not been in a classroom since March.
Whilst pupil numbers have grown over the summer, the biggest change is in the Sixth Form where 13 pupils last year has now grown to 33. At last we have had a chance to congratulate in person our IGCSE and AS Level pupils, who achieved such a fantastic set of grades over the summer. We anticipate further outstanding achievements next August. While welcoming pupils back in assemblies, I was able to remind them that such success, at whatever age, happens due to hard work throughout the whole year, starting now.
Of course, we know that life hasn’t completely returned to normal. We continue to follow common sense precautions regarding COVID-19, including checking temperatures, wearing masks, promoting hand-washing and social distancing. Advice will develop as the situation changes. We will also be adjusting calendared events as necessary, keeping parents informed when changes are made.
For now, we’re delighted to be back and to have our children engaging in lessons and other activities that make this such an inspiring place to learn.”
