We will be establishing a Community Service programme which will be of great benefit to the local community, in particular the charity groups and nearby schools with who we will work regularly. We feel it is very important that pupils will be given the opportunity to interact and work with local residents, and our strong link with the local community is a crucial part of College life; invariably, the pupils feel as if they have gained far more than they have been able to give. Above all, pupils will be challenged to look at what they have ‘in their hands’, and to use their gifts and talents to encourage and serve others.
Our service projects will include fundraising by all year groups of the College as well as whole-school charitable events such as theme days and Summer Fayres, the proceeds of which will be given to selected organisations. Outreach programmes such as visiting local day care centres and schools to teach English, painting murals in youth clubs or providing musical entertainment for local resident groups will also play important parts in the College’s Community Service programme.
