In celebration of Loy Krathong, Brighton College Bangkok held a simple yet meaningful event that brought together pupils from EYFS to Senior School to learn the true value of Loy Krathong, a festival of gratitude to nature and water. Pupils created krathongs using biodegradable and natural materials and floated it in a closed pond on campus to ensure none of the materials would enter natural waterways.

In addition, pupils took time to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, learning about Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to conserving forests and water resources, and promoting traditional arts and culture. Pupils also learned about Her Majesty’s initiative in creating the Thai Royal Dresses (Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom). Both teachers and pupils wore Thai traditional attire on this special day to honour Her Majesty’s legacy and to celebrate Thai heritage with pride.
