Gabrielle studied Chemistry and German, sharing her time between Universities in Scotland and Regensburg, Germany. She completed a PhD at Sheffield University then continued to work as a Materials Chemist Researcher and part time lecturer in the UK, Vienna, Austria and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Following several years’ outreach work keeping teenage girls in physical sciences, Gabrielle moved into Science Communication, training and then working as a journalist for two years before finding her true vocation as a school teacher. Gabrielle taught Physics and Chemistry at all levels in the UK, subsequently taking on posts as Head of Chemistry and later, Director of Science. During this time, she also worked for Sheffield University School of Education training new Science teachers.
Keen to raise her children as culturally-aware, global citizens, Gabrielle moved her family to Switzerland where she worked in the IB system at the International School of Geneva before embarking on her first teaching job in Asia, as Deputy Head of Science and Chemistry Specialist at Brighton College Bangkok.
