Mathematics at Brighton College Bangkok Vibhavadi is taught in a practical and engaging way, helping pupils to develop fluency, reasoning and a deeper conceptual understanding. Lessons combine repetition with increasing challenge, using hands-on resources such as number lines, cubes and counters to bring mathematical ideas to life. Following the Ministry of Education’s framework, our Thai Curriculum immerses both native and non-Thai pupils in language, culture and history. Thai pupils develop key language skills and engage with literature to deepen cultural understanding and critical thinking. Non-Thai pupils build essential language skills for effective communication and literacy.

Through interactive lessons, all pupils gain respect for Thai traditions, festivals and historical events, fostering cultural awareness alongside language proficiency.

Pupils begin learning Mandarin by exploring Chinese culture, festivals and daily vocabulary. They are introduced to pinyin and start to recognise basic Chinese radicals and writing rules, using Mandarin for simple communication.

The curriculum broadens to include geography, people and traditions of China, alongside developing vocabulary and grammar. Pupils continue using pinyin while learning to read and write basic characters, progressing to more varied communicative tasks as their skills grow.

Our PE curriculum encourages pupils to lead active, healthy lives while fostering teamwork, confidence and core values like fairness and respect. Building experience, pupils engage with a wider range of activities that develop agility, balance and coordination.

Our music programme is designed to inspire and engage pupils, fostering a strong foundation in musical understanding while nurturing their talents. The inclusive curriculum offers singing, percussion, music theory and notation, providing varied opportunities for learning.

Performances in our modern theatre allow pupils of all ages to build confidence, develop stage presence and enjoy sharing their musical progress with others.

Both French and Spanish are offered individually to pupils in Years 5 and 6 as part of their Modern Foreign Languages curriculum. Taught by specialist teachers, pupils quickly develop an understanding of the languages through songs, interactive activities, and a range of speaking and listening exercises. As they progress, pupils expand their skills by learning to write in both French and Spanish, gaining an understanding of vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. In addition to language skills, pupils are exposed to the culture and traditions of both French and Spanish countries.

Our PSHE curriculum supports pupils’ personal, social, health and economic development, following the Department for Education’s guidance on Relationships and Health Education. It equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices, build healthy relationships and manage emotions.

Topics include wellbeing, diversity, puberty, online safety and respectful relationships. Pupils learn to approach changes confidently and understand consent, empathy and responsible technology use. This prepares them to be respectful, responsible and engaged members of both local and global communities.

HEALTH at Brighton College Bangkok Vibhavadi is a bespoke subject—‘Home Economics and Lifetime Health’, taught on years 4 - 6, which is designed to equip pupils with essential life skills that support well-being and mental health. Through hands-on projects, pupils learn about citizenship, sustainability, and global awareness while contributing to local and charitable initiatives. Lessons take place in a purpose-built classroom, where pupils develop practical skills using professional-standard cookery facilities.
