A Culture of Kindness

To create a happy and content community, we focus on making sure every individual feels valued for who they are. Our goal is for pupils to become the best version of themselves, not a second-class version of someone else. Mutual respect is at the core of everything we do.

With the support of our exceptional teachers and form tutors, you'll find your interest in your subjects will grow, fostering the spirit of independent inquiry that’s essential for university learning. To support this independence, our dedicated Sixth Form Centre provides you with your own space to work and relax.

We recognize that you're older and more independent, but we're still here to guide and assist you as you navigate classes, exams, the university admissions process, and the journey beyond school.

In addition to achieving some of the best academic results in the country, our pupils leave Brighton Colleges as well-rounded, confident, and kind young adults.

Every pupil is part of a House, each led by a Housemistress or Housemaster. Each House features a Common Room for relaxation and a dedicated team of tutors. There are no social hierarchies within the Houses; all year groups mix, and older pupils play an active role in mentoring younger pupils. Our Sixth Form pupils receive training in mentoring, and many regard these relationships as some of their most memorable experiences at the school.

Wellbeing is at the centre of our school culture and encompasses many aspects of mental, physical and emotional health. But at its core is our ability to look after ourselves, and those around us.

Our Wellbeing programme allows all young people to access information, resources and skills to equip them with advice and practical support to look after themselves now and in the future.

From looking at how to form healthy relationships, to planning a university budget, our pupils are educated in valuable life skills. A particular highlight is our cooking and ironing sessions, which allow our Sixth Formers to showcase their skills in fun competitions and challenges.

Our pupils know that there is a whole world beyond the classroom, and we encourage them to remember that they are a part of society, not apart from it. We want to make our Sixth Form pupils truly global citizens.
