From Year 7, all the way up to those studying for IGCSE and A Level in Physical Education, there is something for everyone, including football and tennis, basketball and badminton, athletics, swimming, kayaking and more, making the most of our world-class facilities.
Football
Our pupils love to play football all year round, and can take advantage of our full-size grass pitch. Our boys' and girls' teams play in regular competitive matches against local schools in TISAC and GBAC events, enjoying the beautiful game in small-sided games that encourage teamwork. There are also co-curricular clubs and teams for regular training and professional coaching available from our CCA partners.
Basketball
Our indoor Sports Hall boasts three full-size basketball courts, ideal for training and competitive play. Coaching is led by our experienced PE teachers, and the College teams compete in regular competitive matches and tournaments against local schools. There are also after-school clubs, which allow pupils to follow their passion for basketball.
Athletics
Track and field athletics provides fantastic opportunities to learn new skills, and to make the most of our exceptional facilities.Whether it's running on our IOC-approved 400m running track, leaping into our long jump sandpit, or throwing a javelin across the field, there's something for everyone to try and excel in. At Brighton, we are proud to host the GBAC and TISAC athletics competitions each year, as well as invitational athletics meets.
Swimming
We have three swimming pools on campus: a shallow starter pool, a short-course 25m pool, and an IOC-approved, long course 50m pool. Pupils can join after-school clubs to improve and our best swimmers can join the Brighton Swim Squad. The swim team competes regularly and enjoys participating in our annual Festival of Swimming, a TSA-approved event which attracts 600 swimmers from top schools and clubs across Thailand every year.
Netball
Highly successful, our girls compete across the age groups including competive matches in our purpose built sports hall.
Badminton
Pupils from Year 4 upwards learn badminton in our large, air-conditioned Sports Hall, starting with the basics before entering into competition. Every year our pupils enjoy an internal House badminton competition, while our badminton squad regularly competes in matches and tournaments against local schools. There is also an after-school club for badminton, where pupils can practice their skills alongside peers and our PE teachers.
Golf
Our golf team competes in the International Schools’ Golf Tour. With 20 tournaments throughout the year, including the development tour, our golfers regularly compete against the best young golfers in Thailand. In addition we host the annual Brighton College Bangkok golf invitational at the world-renowned Thai Country Club.
Our world-class sports facilities are suited to players of all sports and abilities and are a testament to the central role that sport plays at Brighton College Bangkok. Our commitment to providing sport for everyone means pupils can enjoy their activity of choice in a world-class training environment.
Our IOC approved a 400-metre running track, throwing cage, shot put triangle, triple and long jump sand pits, high jump mat and grass field for javelin make our athletics facilities the best in Bangkok and a regular venue for hosting events.
Our full-sized 11-side football pitch, which can be split into smaller pitches for all age groups, is used daily for our football programme. All matches are played in front of our home spectators, who enjoy the games from our shaded seating area.
Our triple, air-conditioned sports hall is used for PE lessons in the curriculum. It is also used for netball and basketball team CCAs and to host competitions and fixtures. With seating available for 300 spectators, the atmosphere is electric.
We have three swimming pools to meet the needs of pupils of all ages and abilities. Our squad swimmers enjoy training and competing in our 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool. Our 25-metre pool is used for curriculum lessons and our younger squad sessions.
