Inspired by the vibrant and dynamic city of Bangkok, our pupils draw creativity from the world around them, exploring diverse artistic influences in their work. Each year, we proudly showcase their talents in our annual art exhibition, celebrating their achievements and artistic growth. Visitors, pupils, and staff alike frequently comment on the breathtaking array of artwork displayed throughout the school, reflecting the creativity, dedication, and skill of our young artists.
We prepare our pupils to become critical thinkers, problem solvers and young entrepreneurs. Through instilling both practical and creative skills in a variety of materials and technologies, we encourage and support a range of artistic ambitions.
Art
The art department is a well lit dynamic space, where pupils can develop their creativity using a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, installation and printmaking, as well as written explorations of ideas and critical thinking. We put emphasis on contemporary practice and theories that inform art, as well as practical skills. Alongside artist introductions in lessons pupils also attend gallery trips throughout the year. Pupils develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of art, refine their creative skills, and showcase their talents by participating in a variety of international artistic competitions throughout the year.
Photography
Photography allows pupils to develop a critical understanding of the works of significant artists and photographers and refine their skill sets. Pupils explore through a journey of investigating a wide range of elements when capturing an image, from digital cinematography, cyanotype, collage, manual manipulation, digital enhancement using Photoshop. Pupils come away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject, alongside the ability to capture sublime imagery, and they take part in the multitude of creative competitions we have throughout the year.
